What are the benefits of consulting an Architect GP?
At Architect GP, we believe your home should be a source of joy, not stress. We’re here for homeowners who’ve already started their building or renovation journey but feel unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck with unanswered questions. These are the Design Gaps endemic in our housing market.
We are your personal design advocate. We don’t replace your builder, designer or draftsperson. Instead, we fill the gaps they are missing to bridge you through your current uncertainty. We can help you avoid costly mistakes and make more informed decisions that protect your investment.
With flexible, confidential consultations tailored to your schedule, Architect GP empowers you to take control of your project, so you can build the home you truly want, without second-guessing or regret.
Architect GP is a totally new service, not a “cheaper” kind of architecture.
Many people think that architects aren’t interested unless we get to “design the whole house”. Architect GP here to change that.
There is a perception that architects are expensive or put forward designs in their own recognisable style. Architect GP thinks differently.
We created Architect GP to advocate for YOU.
We’re a community of architects around Australia who want to help more people to navigate the minefield of design and building issues, by providing them with a new way to access impartial advice or an expert second opinion.
We can respectfully review a design process which is already underway to look for ways improve functionality, troubleshoot problems and manage budget. A second opinion can be your superpower.
We set out to make getting design support more affordable and less stressful for homeowners and renovators, because we believe that everyone should benefit from good design.
“You’ve made this so much more than a project home!”

What do you get from your Architect GP consult?
Consult
STEP 1
We’ll engage in meaningful discussions with you to understand your wants and needs, as well as the house you’re looking to improve, or the site where you plan to build.
We use questionnaires and tools to give this process structure.
Consider
STEP 2
Then we’ll weigh up the various options and map out possible scenarios for you to consider, taking into account all of the identified constraints. (Especially where these constraints seem to be fighting each other!)
Convey
STEP 3
We’ll share our ideas, suggestions and advice using a combination of words, sketches and reports. These will be really clear to help you understand the project’s important elements.
Typically, our sketches describe key factors like sunlight, shade, and room relationships and they are hand drawn.
Connect
STEP 4
Once we’ve delivered our findings, we can refer you to other people in the building industry - such as draftspeople, building designers, builders, engineers and other consultants - to help you take the next steps to realise your project.
